TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida gas prices fell 2 cents last week, hitting the lowest daily average since December 2023, according to AAA.
The state average on Sunday was $2.90 a gallon, 28 cents lower than last month and 19 cents lower than last year. A full tank of gas costs about $43.50, nearly $3 less than a year ago.
“Gasoline prices in Florida continue to fluctuate from week to week, but the overall trend is downward,” Mark Jenkins, a spokesperson for AAA Auto Club Group, said in a statement. “Strong global oil supplies and a seasonal drop in gasoline demand have pushed pump prices to their lowest level in nearly two years.”
The metro areas with the highest gas prices in Florida are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($3.10), Gainesville ($3.00), and Naples ($2.98). The metropolitan areas with the lowest gas prices are in the Florida Panhandle: Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($2.70), Pensacola ($2.71), and Panama City ($2.76).
Florida’s average ($2.90) is slightly lower than the national average of $3.03 per gallon.
