Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will run in the 2028 Republican primary, according to a new Center Square poll.
But even in third place, DeSantis trails Vice President J.D. Vance and Donald Trump Jr.
The poll received responses from Republican and independent voters. Vice President Vance was the top choice among Republican voters at 38%, followed by Trump Jr. at 26%, and Governor DeSantis at 6%.
Most independent voters also liked Vance. 41% said they support the vice president. Trump Jr. was also chosen by independents, receiving 13% of the vote.
Polls show Vance is more popular among female voters than male voters. The vice president performs well with Republicans and female independents, but not with men, at 40% and 36%, respectively.

Among black and Hispanic groups, Trump Jr. is outperforming Vance. 23% of black voters support Mr. Trump Jr. over Mr. Vance (21%). 19% of Hispanics support Trump Jr. and 18% support Vance.
Young voters are more likely to support Trump Jr. 40% of those surveyed were between 18 and 44 years old. Trump Jr. also has more support than Vance among male voters who earn more than $100,000 a year.
How do Republican voters in certain regions of the country view Republican candidates? Polls show that Vice President Vance is the top choice in the Midwest, South, and West regions. In the Northeast, Trump Jr.’s approval rating was 38%, compared to Vance’s 31%, which was better than Vance.
