TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Tropical Storm Jerry continues to move north in the Atlantic Ocean, the National Hurricane Center announced.
As of 5 a.m. Saturday, Jerry was about 735 miles north of the Leeward Islands and 545 miles south of Bermuda.
The storm could bring swells and dangerous waves to some parts of the Caribbean, but landfall is not expected.
Maximum sustained winds were 90 mph, moving north at 16 mph.
Jerry is expected to continue turning north-northeast through the rest of the weekend and turn east on Monday.
NHC is also monitoring a tropical wave that is causing chaotic showers and thunderstorms off the coast of Africa. It is moving west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
The chance of developing symptoms is low: 10% in the next 48 hours and 30% in the next 7 days.
