PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – Panama City Beach’s leaning landmark is now just a memory.
The infamous leaning house on Gulf Drive was reduced to a pile of rubble.
This house was the first to be damaged by Hurricane Michael and was rebuilt. Then, in January 2024, the foundation was blown away again by a tornado.
It became a tourist attraction, but it was also an eyesore and a threat to homes on both sides.

Neighbors filed suit, sparking a legal battle that lasted more than a year.
This summer, a judge set a deadline for the owners to tear it down or pay a $1,000-a-day fine. Demolition began about two weeks ago.
Crews are inspecting two adjacent homes to see if they can be repaired. We will update future information on these properties from time to time.
