OKECHOBEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A crash of a school bus in Okeechobee on Monday morning sent several students and a bus driver to hospital, the Okeechobee County school said.
NBC affiliate WPTV reported that eight students on the bus were transported with life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office said the bus had collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Highway 70 around 7am, but did not provide further details regarding the crash situation.
The road was closed while the first responders worked to rescue the victim and clear the scene, and the sheriff’s office said all residents were evacuated immediately.

None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, but several were taken to a nearby hospital “from abundant care.”
The district later confirmed that no one was seriously injured and thanked the first responders for their quick response to the scene.
