WILLISTON, Fla. (WFLA) — The crash of a plane claimed multiple lives over the weekend in Levy County, Florida, lawmakers said.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office first reported the incident on Sunday, saying it responded to crashing with multiple agencies.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a Florida man accused of an officer who was shot and killed more than 20 times

“There’s a law enforcement agency southwest of Williston,” the sheriff’s office wrote on social media. “The Levy County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Fire Department and the Levy County Public Safety Department have responded to a fatal plane crash. The Levy County Sheriff’s Office is waiting for a response from the FAA and NTSB.”

The National Transportation Safety Board confirmed a crash on social media on planes, with “a mile of a beach at Williston Regional Airport in Williston, Florida.”

8 contacted the Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB for more information, but received an automatic response that their communications are being restricted due to government closures and expiration funds.

Wuft reports that authorities confirmed three deaths and no survivors. Blue Pear Farms, a business across the road from the crash site, also posted that there were three deaths.

“I drive in this field every day,” read a Blue Pair Farm post. “This was taken yesterday morning, and it happened in the evening. The idea that the three of them have no souls makes this picture intense.

Wuft also reported that the plane is owned by 424 Ventures LLC and connected to the Vernon & Vernon accounting office in St. Petersburg, Florida.
