Palm Coast, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida driver pulled to go to 107 mph said he was trying to “appoint a barber.”
Traffictop dash camera and body camera video released by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office shows 57-year-old Michael Stanek is signaled to run down the highway and hand it over to law enforcement.
After he requests to leave the vehicle, the aide hears Stanek ask why he goes so fast and replies, “I have an appointment with my barber at News Myrna.”
In Florida, catching a driver driving at a speed limit of 50 mph or 100 mph or more per hour is considered a “super speeder” and could face prison time.
Police say Stanek was taken to Sheriff Perry Hall’s prisoner detention facility where he was released on a $150 bond.
