If you didn’t know about the goaltender Danil Tarasov, you’ll do so now.

The Florida Panthers, behind the 26-year-old’s 47 save performance and four goals third period, beating the Carolina Hurricane 4-2 at the Lenovo Center on Wednesday.

“He was amazing. That’s great for him. Build confidence,” coach Paul Maurice said of Tarasov’s performance after the match. “Everyone who comes home knows about the performance he had tonight, so it’s good for him.”

An early test was plundered and the Panthers descended the two men after a stumbling and slashing.

Without shaking under pressure, the game remained scoreless after 2 minutes, with a big save from Tarasov and some critical clearings.

In the game, the Panthers’ penalty kill prevents all four Carolina man-bandages.

“We got stuck together, fought together, and continued to be patient until the very end,” Tarasov said of the team’s ability to stick to that.

Breaking the ice, Ryan Suzuki advanced the Hurricane 1-0 with a chip shot at 10:07.

Extending the Carolina lead, Jesperi Kotkaniemi ripped with a low wrist shot at 16:20.

Keeping it nearby, Tarasov saved 16 in the first frame.

“It’s like a little brick for a building in the season,” Tarasov said.
