The man convicted of trying to assassinate President Trump while playing golf in South Florida last year, tried to stab him with a pen after federal ju judges convicted him on Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan Rouse was convicted of all five counts faced by the ju apprentices after two hours of deliberation. Accusations of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate are sentenced to a maximum life sentence.
After the verdict was announced and the ju judges began leaving the court, Rous grabbed the pen and tried to stab him in the neck, urging our ex-s to intervene.
His daughter, Sarah Rous, cried out, and they dragged him out of court.
“Dad, I love you, I will not do anything,” she said. “I’ll drive you out. He didn’t hurt anyone.”
After the incident, Rous was returned to the bondage judge. He was no longer wearing a jacket and tie, and there were no signs of blood on his shirt.
US District Judge Eileen Cannon passed the verdict on December 18th.
Routh was convicted after defending his own case in a two-week trial.
Federal prosecutors questioned 38 witnesses in seven days to prove to the ju judges to prove that Rous had sent weeks to kill Trump, near the sixth hole in September last year, pushing the muzzle of his rifle through the vicinity of West Palm Beach Golf Course.
Louth was found before Trump entered view, Secret Service agents testified. He shot Routh. He escaped without firing a shot.
However, the government argued that the fact that Routh has not pulled the trigger should not stop the panel from reaching its conviction.
“If the evidence in this case showed just one thing and one thing, then Ryan Wesley Rouse wanted Donald Trump to die,” according to News Nation, U.S. lawyer Christopher Brown said in his closing remarks.
Rous insisted on the opposite. He said he focused on a shootout that could not kill people and never would, as prosecutors argued, suggesting he would not intend to do so.
According to the Associated Press, it is difficult for the defendant to believe that a crime occurred if the trigger was never drawn out,” he said he was off topic to touch on Adolf Hitler and the war between Ukraine and Gaza.
Routh called three witnesses in the three-hour defense incident. He is a firearms expert and two character witnesses. He was not standing on himself.
On Monday, Sarah Rous told News Nation that she thought the trial was “equipped.”
She said judge Cannon “should have rejected himself from the start.” Cannon oversaw the President’s Classification Documents case.
“If anyone has a heart for the ju umpire, they’ll see my dad doesn’t deserve it,” she told News Nation.
Routh was convicted of possessing a firearm to promote violent crime. Assaulting federal officers. He owns firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon. And in addition to counting attempted assassination, he owns a firearm with a serial number that was erased.
His attempt at Trump’s life was second last year to the then presidential candidate.
Trump faced another assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July. The shooter was shot and killed by a sniper from a secret service after firing a card and making his ears ring.
