WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman killed in Winter Springs on Tuesday was killed after being thrown from a wheelchair and crashed into a half-squad.

According to release from the Winter Springs Police Department, officers responded to a pedestrian-involved traffic accident that occurred at the corner of SR-434 and Bell Avenue.

At the scene, officers said they found a woman lying on the road, who died of injuries that appeared to coincide with being hit by a half-interlude trailer.

The WSPD said the woman identified as 58-year-old Colene Ruhl was on the sidewalk moving east in an electric wheelchair as the cicada heading east was about to turn right on Bell Avenue.

Rules began to cross at Bell Avenue when the cicadas began to turn right, but were hit by a trailer for the turn cicada, thrown from their wheelchair and killed.

Police said Rule was visiting from Jacksonville.
