TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A man has been arrested after being accused of impersonating an officer to bypass traffic.

On September 7th, troopers were dispatched to Interstate 75 following reports of a reckless driver heading south, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to an FHP report, 50-year-old driver Anthony Tripp changed his Red Dodge Ram to a vehicle to include the siren.

According to the report, Tripp had activated yellow and white lights and used them to interweave highway traffic.

The trooper pulled the trip and searched the vehicle. Meanwhile I noticed a black siren box with multiple switches.

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested Tripp and charged him with impersonating a law officer.

Court records show that in addition to these charges, Tripp is also a sexual predator convicted in two counties.
