Islamorada, FL (WFLA) – Mahi Mahi, dolphin or dorado fish, whatever you call, I agree that they are a fun fish to catch and delicious fish to eat! They are fish that have been targeted almost all year round in Florida Keys.

Amanda Holly had the opportunity to fish with world-renowned fisherman George Puberomo. They were in Islamorada where they roamed and chased a flock of birds to catch the mahi mahi.
George has been fishing for these waters for a lifetime and knows what to look for. Trolling with sea grass spots, floating debris, and flocks of birds gives you the best chance to find them.
The bite can turn on quickly and it can be difficult to store around the boat as it is constantly moving. But when the bite is lit, it’s so much fun!
Once the bite is off, try catching up to school or changing your tactics. Sometimes it is helpful to throw live bait into a patch of grass or birds.
You can catch it with Amanda in the world of George Pobebellomos’s saltwater fishing show this January on the Discovery Channel and again on ESPN2 in April!
