PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested Monday after breaking into a woman’s home and committing sexual acts while sleeping, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies answered the call just after 5am on Monday. This said she woke up to a known person identified as 20-year-old Brazzne Jacobs, 20, in her bedroom, where she held a knife towards her when she engaged in sexual acts.
According to the CCSO, the victim tried to get her to get involved in the act, but he refused and Jacobs left.
The victim received an audio recording during the incident and provided it to the detective.
The detective finds Jacobs in his home and he is taken to the main crime unit’s office for an interview.
Deputies said Jacobs initially denied the allegations, but as interviews proceeded and he was noticed by audio recordings on-site and biological evidence, Jacobs confessed his conduct.
“This is a disgusting and unforgivable act, and I praise her quick thinking to get evidence that will help put this man behind the bar. It is a testament to her strength and courage. I would like to thank my detective for finding this predator and finding a confession, but it does not undo the harm he caused.
Jacobs was arrested on felony of sexual battery charges for weapons, assault and robbery with batteries, and false imprisonment of a person for his will.
