TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Rewards are being offered for safe returns of rare parrots believed to have been stolen from a porch in Ybor City.

“I really have no questions. We just want her back,” Randy Mosley said.

Cleo is a Congo-African Grey parrot and is grey with red tail feathers.

“She’s probably 20 years old. We had her for about 12 years. She was a rescue,” Mosley said.

Cleo’s owner, Randy Mosley, said he disappeared from the cage on August 16th. The cage sits on the front porch at his home on East 24th Avenue in Eversity.

The body found on Anna Maria Island may not have swimmers

Surveillance cameras captured two young men who appeared to canvas the house several times on the day Cleo disappeared.

“They came to our house twice at 8:30pm and then came back to see us again at 10:30pm, then at 10:35pm, the two came back,” Mosley said. “They looked at our house in person, looked at our house in person, waited for the lights to go out, then came back at 10:35pm and took her there.”

Mosley handed the video to Tampa police, and detectives are currently investigating.

In the meantime, Mosley has been holding flyers and continuously scanned online for clues.

So far, Mosley said there had been one potential sighting. The bird shop owner reported that two men tried to sell African grey parrots the same weekend when Cleo went missing.

“They tried to bring her and sell her, but the owner advised them that her wings were broken so they needed to take her to the vet,” Mosley said.

St. Pete police may have been invited by his ex-boyfriend

Mosley offers rewards for Cleo’s safe return.

“Take her back. No questions asked. We’re offering a $1,000 reward that we really want to get Cleo back,” Mosley said.

If you have any information about Cleo that could lead to her return, you can contact the family at 813-924-1628.
