TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida State linebacker was sent to hospital after being shot and killed in Havana, Florida on Sunday night, the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office said FSU football player Ethan Pritchard was injured in a shooting at an apartment in 16th Avenue and Havana Heights, about 15 miles from Tallahassee.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.

No other details regarding the shooting or Pritchard’s condition have been released.
Prticard signed FSU in December. The Orlando Sentinel reported that he didn’t play on Saturday in his team’s season-opening victory over Alabama.
FSU Athletics has issued the following statement regarding the status of Pritchard:
“Ethan Pritchard, a freshman linebacker for the Florida football team, is in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital after being injured by a bullet last night while visiting a family in Havana, Florida.
