Ocala, Fla. — US Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe has announced his return to the charges charged with Rodrigo Trejo Maldonado (30, Mexico) for illegal re-entry by a foreigner who was previously deported. If convicted, Trejo-Maldonado faces the biggest penalty of two years in federal prison.
According to court records, Trejo Maldonado was deported from the United States on November 30, 2018. It was revealed that he voluntarily returned to the United States on July 25, 2025.
The indictment is a formal charge of defendant committing one or more violations of federal criminal code, and all defendants are presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty.
The lawsuit is being investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He is being charged by US lawyer Aide Hannah Watson.
The case is part of Take Back America, a national initiative that marshals the Department of Justice’s complete resources to fight off illegal immigrant aggression, achieve the complete exclusion of cartels and cross-border criminal organizations (TCOs), and protects communities from perpetrators of violent crime.
