Lucy, Port St. Fla. (WFLA) – A South Florida woman said she was lured by police, put in a van and sexually assaulted, but managed to escape the attacker when she stopped at Publix.

The St. Lucie Police Department said 60-year-old Michael Jablonski and the victim are known to each other, and the woman said she invited her out of Davy on August 10th.

“We’re going to lock up y’all up”: Charged after the Lake Winter Battle, the sheriff says

According to a report by NBC affiliate WTVJ, after taking her there, Jablonski put her in a white van and sexually assaulted her.

While heading north he stopped at Publix in Port St. Lucie. She sought help from the employee and was taken to a safe office space where the employee called 911.

The investigation continues after a teenage found in Manatee County was believed to be missing

When police arrived they found the van and found Jablonski walking back to the vehicle, WTVJ reported. The officer asked him if there was anyone else in the van, but he said that wasn’t, the arrest report said.

Jablonski ignored the command to stop and at one point tried to enter the van. The struggle continued and officers had to chase him before they could put him in custody.

He was charged with resisting officers and officer batteries, and police said an investigation into allegations of lure and assault is underway.
