North Fort Myers, Fla. (WFLA) – A man who fled the St. Petersburg Correctional Facility earlier this month was arrested Monday in North Fort Myers.
Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Rabin Lane’s apartment and believed that 33-year-old Jamie Jenks had been hiding after disappearing on August 3rd.
Jenks barricaded inside the apartment. SWAT and the crisis negotiator spent two hours trying to get him out.

Video provided by the sheriff’s office shows Jenks surrendering to deputies and loaded into the sheriff’s office vehicle.
“I am grateful for my agent’s prompt action and their dedication to ensure a peaceful resolution. This fugitive has chosen the illicit county that caught up with him today.”
Florida Department of Corrections records show that Jenks is currently sentenced to two years in his third conviction for several petit thefts.
