OCCOEE, Fla. (WFLA) – He shot a vehicle driver near OCOEE’s Publix on Sunday while answering a call about a stolen vehicle.
Officials from the OCOEE Police Station said they were able to accommodate the area of 301 West Road in search of stolen vehicles found in the shopping plaza parking lot.
In an attempt to escape, the vehicle driver ran straight towards the police officers and attacked one of them, according to NBC affiliate WESH.
Police told reporters that this led officers to draw weapons and fire at the driver of the vehicle. The driver was taken to a nearby AdventHealth Hospital, where he was listed in dangerous conditions.
Wesh reported that no officers were injured in the shooting, and that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident.
