KIE WEST, Fla. (WFLA) — Two men died on Florida keys during the gorgeous lobster season, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said last week.
On July 30, an 82-year-old man identified as a Clarence Shower in Palm City was found to not respond while snorkeling in the Gulf Coast. McSO said he was about five miles off the mile marker 60.
The showbar was returned to the coast around 10:45am and taken to the marathon fishermen’s hospital, where he was declared dead.
On July 31, a 61-year-old man identified as Raymond Bruce Sasser from Loxahatchee lost consciousness from a Mile-Marker 74 while snorkelling.
According to MCSO, foul play is not considered a factor in the death of either man.
MCSO also noted that a boat propeller struck a child’s foot on Thursday, demanding that Miami Children’s Hospital be fired in the air.
