BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A woman has been arrested after months of accusing her of abandoning two dogs and cats in her apartment bedroom.

In April, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office heard hundreds of fly in response to reports from pest control employees scattered around the apartment, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

Deputies said they discovered that one of the rooms, a pet, had died when they opened the door.

Pet food was also found in the room, but was out of reach of animals.

Veterinary technician Christian Miller told reporters he paid pet sitters to see and care for the animals, but the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office told reporters there was no evidence to support the allegations.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested Miller and charged her with felony animal cruelty, sufficient food, water or exercise, and illegal confinement without abandonment of animals, and illegal confinement.
