Salmonella is a bacterial infection that can cause contaminants, fever and convulsions, and usually begins 6 hours to 6 days after consuming contaminated food. For most people, recovery takes 4-7 days without treatment.

People with an impaired immune system, children under the age of 5, or adults over the age of 65 may suffer from a more severe infection than they can land in the hospital.
