The looks can certainly be deceived. From the outside, this barn-style home in Lake Mary Jane is not particularly special.

Next, enter through the double front door and find yourself in a stylish, quiet hideaway.

As you continue walking towards the lake, you will find yourself on an outdoor oasis and undoubtedly Orlando’s biggest back porch.

According to a report by GrowthSpotter, the 35-year-old home has earned a 3,512-square-foot and a 4,000-square-foot screen-in party pouch indoors.

“On the outside, you can easily and comfortably host 30 people in that house, and not even 50 or more people bump into each other,” said Sam Pergerson, a listing agent at Pergerson Group-Coldwell Banker Realty.

The bug-free porch includes a large pool, multiple seating areas, pass-through from the indoor kitchen, TV and gaming areas.

The seller bought the house for just under $1 million in 2020 and spent the money renewing it.

“When she bought it, it was a complete fixer upper, so I think she had to erase everything and start over,” Pergerson told GrowthSpotter. “Like a fireplace. It was once stone, so she spent almost $100,000 to remove all of that and put quartz in the fireplace.”

The old interior ceilings of Cypress Wood were recycled and used in expanded outdoor spaces.

“When she bought it, when you left the kitchen, you were living a bit outdoors with the pool, that’s it,” explained Pargerson. “She added a roof and extended another 2,000 square feet of deck, with fireplaces, outdoor furniture and an outdoor kitchen.”

The screen provides views of the 500-foot lake front, a large covered dock and four acres of land while protecting everything from bugs.

Located just north of Orlando’s Mospark, this house has a sense of country escape.

“It feels very calm and quiet and green, but not too far,” she said. “If you drive from home for about 10 minutes, you’ll find new subdivisions, supermarkets, restaurants and more.

Pergerson said the sellers love exotic fruit trees like plants and sugar apples and dragon fruits.

“She spent a lot of money on landscaping. You see orchids wrapped in trees. There are plenty of orchids on the property.”

Natural elements like wood and stone exist in four-bedroom, three-bathroom homes, including walls decorated with faux moss, ferns and bamboo.

“When you go there, you feel like a spa.”

The bedroom is separated into various sides of the house, with a public living area between them. Everything leads to the outdoors.

The main bedroom closet was huge, but the sellers needed more space.

“She had a lot of clothes. If she hadn’t sold the house, she was literally thinking of expanding one of her bedroom into a shoe closet,” Pargerson said with a laugh.

The outdoor space includes a fully commercial style kitchen perfect for exciting cooking.

“She loved cooking. She’s always cooked and you know from Asian cuisine. It’s honestly a lot of spices, flavor and smell,” she said of her ability to cook outside and maintain a strong smell from home.

Then relax after the meal.

“I think she enjoys having lunch and dinner and being by the deck overlooking the lake. Then after dinner you just walk to the dock and go to the lake with a drink or coffee. That’s really good.”

She said the perfect buyer is probably someone who wants an atypical Florida home.

“I think a 3,500-square-foot house is big enough, but it’s not too big for a family. But it’s quiet when you have the land and get your privacy. If you go there, you feel that all your worries are outside the gate.”
