Cruise-loving travelers will soon get a new ship to “wash again” with the announcement of the Margaritaville on the sea’s newest and largest cruise ship.

At 102,500 tons, there is room for double the occupant 2,680 passengers and up to 3,450 guests. The beachcomber ship, which debuted in 2003, currently operates as Costa Fortuna, the Costa Cruise Line sailing in the Mediterranean.

The ship, which will continue to sail with Costa until late next year, will feature 13 passenger decks, vast outdoor space and an eight-storey center atrium.

“With the acquisition of our third ship in three years, we are proud to invite guests once again to intervene in the open ocean Mind of Mind State,” said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville in a news release. “The launch of Margaritaville at Sea Islander is a key moment for us, and the acquisition of Costa Fortuna, the biggest ship to date, offers another exciting opportunity to bring guests more fun and escapism from their new home port.”

Ride a Beach Comer Bar where you can explore fan favorite venues for food and drinking, such as somewhere at the Paradise Burger venue somewhere at 5 o’clock. According to a news release, the ship also features “over 15 new experiences created exclusively for Beachcomber.”

“With Beachcomber, we wanted to create designs that capture the spirit of fun, warmth and relaxed adventure,” said Martha Brabham of Margaritaville, head of the ocean. “We drew inspiration from the nostalgic beach scene, vintage surf art and carefree escapism that defines the brand. The results are based on the award-winning aesthetics we introduced to islanders in 2024.”

Margaritaville at Sea was launched in May 2022 from Port of Palm Beach, featuring paradise from Palm Beach Port. This is 52,926 Groston containers with 10 decks and a capacity of 1,680 passengers. The islanders debuted in June 2024, sailing from Tampa Bay Port, with weights of 85,700 tons of gross tons, with 12 passenger decks and a capacity of 2,650 guests. Both ships on the cruise line now on voyage previously belonged to Costa Cruises. Beachcomber’s home port, itinerary and debut timeline will be announced at a later date.
