TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida – Floridians are paying the lowest price for gas in two months, the AAA has announced.
The average gas price for a gallon in Florida was $2.94 on Sunday.
According to the AAA, the state average has declined over the past 10 days, dropping to a total of 19 cents per gallon.
“While Florida drivers may feel some easing from the recent recession at pumps, the break may not last that long,” said Marc Jenkins, a spokesman for AAA, the automotive club group. “Florida gas prices often follow a pattern of declines of around 10 days, followed by a surge of 20 cents. As oil and gas futures climb again, there could be upward pressure on retail prices in the coming days.”
US prices for crude oil have risen 4% over the past two weeks, while gasoline futures have risen to 10 cents per gallon.
Sebring was one of the most expensive at $3.02.
The cheapest gas price in Florida was $2.83 at Crest Beau Fort Walton Beach.
According to the AAA, the updated Houthi attacks expanded the security risks of the Red Sea. The growing concern about maritime safety is to increase the stability of cargo and energy transport.
The average gas price in Hillsboro County is $2.92.
