TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Pregnant Florida mothers can now apply for temporary parking permits to access parking lots near clinics, grocery stores and drug stores.

A new Florida law came into effect on July 1, allowing Florida highway safety and motor vehicles to issue temporary, disabled parking lots to pregnant mothers.

Temporary parking permits are valid for up to one year and cost $15.

To apply for permission, pregnant mothers must fill out the application form and have their doctor signed it. The application is available on the FLHSMV website.

Pregnant mothers can take the form to the local tax collector’s office or license plate agency to receive a parking permit.
