Rainy weather ahead of the July 4th celebration, the coastal area of ​​Tampa Bay

Several areas along the coast of Tampa Bay experienced flooding on Thursday and flooding on Friday, July 4th.

Up to a few inches of rain fell over the weekend in some areas of Pinellas and Pasco counties, locals shared images of cars submerged in flooded streets on social media such as Madeira Beach.

The rain is still forecast for Friday, and could probably weaken the July 4th celebration. According to Bay News 9, thunderstorms scattered over Friday morning lead to the possibility of calm in the middle of the day with cloudy skies. The chances of rain are the best in the afternoon. The high on Friday is expected to be around 90 degrees.

Bay News 9 predicts more thunderstorms will be expected overnight as they travel through Tampa Bay from the north. Low prices drop overnight in the 70s.

Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center has increased the opportunity for development to form a tropical system in the Atlantic in eastern Florida to 60% over the next two days, according to an update at 8am on Friday. The system is expected to travel along the coast across South Carolina by the end of the weekend.
