DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida personal trainer has been arrested on more than 100 felony charges of voyeurism and possession of child pornography, the Borussia County Sheriff’s Office said.
David Lee Van Moorsel, 28, of Deland, was arrested Tuesday for 40 counts of digital voyeurism, illegal use of a 40 count two-way communications device, and 30 counts of child pornography discovered during investigation.
On June 16, Van Moorsel’s ex-girlfriend reported to VSO that she had secretly recorded her female roommates over two years, deputies said.
The ex-girlfriend has been distributing nude pictures and videos of her roommates to others online, finding a camera in the bathroom and a camera in the bedroom bookshelves.
Detectives seized Van Mooarsel’s phone, where they found numerous voyeur videos of their roommates and online communications about sharing Voir content and trading, the VSO said.
The detective also discovered numerous videos of women working at Gold’s Gym in Daytona Beach, where he worked as a personal trainer.
According to the VSO, the video was filmed in a public area at the gym and did not violate Florida law.
Van Mooase was previously arrested and convicted of sexual assault in Montana, where she was charged with touching a 13-year-old relative and accused of looking at another 13-year-old woman in the shower, deputies said.
Van Mooresell is being held at the Volsia County Branch Jail without bonds.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was also notified after evidence discovered on Van Mooarcel’s phone indicated a potential crime in the area.
