Bahamian citizens have been charged with illegal re-entry after multiple deportations

TAMPA, Fla. — The Federal Jury has charged a Bahamian man with illegally re-entry into the United States after being deported multiple times and being convicted of a felony, as announced by the US Lawyer’s Office this week.

Kenten Ravaldo Swain, 39, from the Bahamas, faces illegal re-entry charges as an aggravated felony. If convicted, he could potentially be up to 20 years in federal prison.

According to the indictment, it was discovered that Swain was voluntarily present in the United States on or around May 16, 2025. Officials say Swain has not received permission from the U.S. Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for entry.

Swain also has a history of felony convictions, including possession of a controlled substance for intent to sell or distribute. This history has heightened the severity of re-entry charges under federal law.

The lawsuit was investigated by the US Immigration Customs Enforcement and Removal Operation (ICE ERO) and US lawyer Jeff Chan is being charged.

The indictment is part of Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cross-border criminal organizations, and reducing violent crime through coordinated enforcement efforts.
