ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – A new major theme park may be working at Walt Disney World.

The document released by the Central Florida Tourism Supervisory District is the board overseeing the planning and operation of the vast property, suggesting some new developments.

Gulf Surveillance Areas for Potential Tropical Development

According to the comprehensive plan, board members have allocated up to 500 acres of land for the new “major” theme park to be developed by 2035. The potential park will be the first to open at Walt Disney World since Animal Kingdom in 1998.

Board members also identified two “minor” park lands, such as the water park, to be built by 2045. More land is reserved for hotels and commercial and entertainment use.

Disney does not provide details about potential developments. WFLA contacted Disney for comment and did not immediately respond.
