Apopka, Fla. (WFLA) – Apopka’s daughter is seeking staff a fair chance after both her parents are taken into custody and her father is deported to Guatemala.
Esbin Juarez and his wife, Rosemari Miranda, came to America more than 20 years ago. Since then, they have had four US-born children and have made their business a success.
After they missed a court hearing more than 20 years ago, the couple was placed under deportation orders, but up until now it was never satisfied.
Juarez was taken into custody when he showed up to check-in for immigrants, according to NBC affiliate WESH.
The couple’s 21-year-old daughter, Beverly Juarez, told reporters that their parents started working with Ice and their father was in the process of getting a U visa when he disappeared.
A U visa is given to victims of certain crimes. This was after being attacked in 2021, when Jaurez had applied for him was thrown to the ground and struck the gunman in the head.
The officer in charge of Juarez’s litigation had discretionary powers that allow both parents’ parents time to obtain a visa through deferred actions, but according to Beverly Juarez, they did not comply.
“My father pays the taxes, he’s not committed a crime,” Beverly Juarez said. “What makes no sense to me is that the officers had the opportunity to use her discretion in an advantageous way, but she didn’t.”
Since her husband’s deportation, Los Mali Miranda has also been detained and has faced deportation in Guatemala.
“There’s a chance that the president will correct this wrong, bring his father back and stop his mother’s deportation. They’re not criminals, so they’re pillars of the community.”
