ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – Parents with Gatorland rescued a crocodile on Thursday and found a bungee cord wrapped tightly in its upper jaw.
According to the theme park, the alligator was discovered in Gainesville’s Paines Prairie Preserve State Park in recent months.
The gator named Bungee is 9 feet long and weighs 200 pounds. He appears to be about 25 years old.
“Someone tried to catch this crocodile with a bungee cord. It was embedded deep inside his top jaw. This was a very dangerous situation for Bungee and would have ultimately been able to kill him.
Ron Sanderson, a trapper who was hired by Gatorland, was able to safely capture the crocodile and take it to Gatorland. There, the bungee cord was removed and the vet conducted a thorough medical check.
