JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – A Jacksonville man was arrested Wednesday. Officials said he wrote a comment on a social media post saying he “plows” a group of anti-ice protesters with topping trucks.

Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said “vigilant citizens” warned of “comments on comments.” It was posted in response to someone asking if protests would arise in Jacksonville, Tampa, or other major Florida cities.

The White House says 330 immigrants arrested in Los Angeles since Friday

The comments include multiple spelling errors and grammatical errors, saying, “Looking at a big gathering for ice protests, like Jacksonville residents, I plow every ignan to see, American pigs.”

The detective immediately reverted his account to 26-year-old Zachary Degross. Authorities then went to DeGross’ house to interview him on Wednesday and said they gathered enough evidence to make him arrested.

“It’s a felony to create a threat like a person who’s been destroyed,” the sheriff’s office said. “If you are pose a threat online to harm others, we will arrest you, even if you are not planning on following that action.”

Jail records show that DeGros was booked at the Duval County Jail for sending a written threat to carry out a terrorist act.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says it is monitoring the protest nationwide, encouraging those who see the threat of harming them to report it immediately to others.

Anti-ice protests have emerged across the United States in response to the Los Angeles demonstration. There, thousands of National Guards were mobilised, and tensions continued to grow on Wednesday.
