Coast Guard Loads $138 million in drugs from the Caribbean

Miami, Fla. (WFLA) – Two Coast Guard crew members. Six suspicious containers. 18,290 pounds of cocaine and 2,585 pounds. Marijuana. $138 million in illegal drugs removed from the Caribbean.

In May alone, the US Coast Guard, backed by other national and international teams, seized and deleted more than $138 million in cocaine and marijuana from six boats in the Caribbean.

The crew were on two brave and active Coast Guard ships last week at Port Everglades and Miami Beach, Coast Guard Base.

“We are incredibly proud of our brave team and how they illustrate America’s values,” Commander Matthew Press said. “They sacrifice time away from their families and place themselves in harm’s way to secure our borders and protect Americans when necessary.”

Details of six intercepts that led to drug attacks.

May 19: A suspicious ship located 85 miles north of Alba, 2,645 pounds of cocaine has been seized. May 22: A suspicious ship located 170 miles north of Alba has been seized with 7,750 pounds of cocaine. May 25: A suspicious ship located 290 miles south of the Dominican Republic has been seized with USS support of 840 pounds of cocaine. May 29: A suspected ship located 140 miles south of the Dominican Republic was seized with the help of the Canadian ship William Hall under his. May 29: The suspected ship, located 15 miles north of Venezuela, has seized 4,050 pounds of cocaine and 2,585 pounds of marijuana with the support of the royal Dutch navy. May 31: The suspicious ship located at 185 north of Columbia has been seized with the assistance of HMCS William Hall.
