In addition to this new requirement, teens seeking licenses must receive parental approval, complete traffic law and substance abuse education courses, pass vision and hearing tests, and written driver exams.
You can obtain a Florida driver’s license after driving for a year under a learner’s license or after reaching 18 years of age. FLHSMV requires parents, legal guardians, or responsible adults aged 21 or older to complete certification of the minor driving experience form. Drivers must also pass the driving skills test.
The new law will come into effect on July 1st.
