The White House called for an important issue that it discussed on May 22 with President Donald Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sinbaum.
“President Trump and Sinbaum discussed economic and security issues,” White House deputy reporter Anna Kelly wrote in an email to the Epoch Times.
“And we’re continuing to talk about anything, especially on the issue of trade, but we’re continuing to negotiate, having good relationships and good communication,” the Mexican president said.
Sinbaum said he has made seven calls with Trump so far.
“In the beginning we continued talking about trade and tariffs. Please remember that in the automotive industry there is a very priority situation for Mexico. She said.
She discussed other issues without specifying which issues, and said that both governments are working on issues of steel and aluminum, but revealed that she “don’t want to say more until an agreement is reached.”
The call between the two presidents came after Sheinbaum Meeting On Monday, he was accompanied by Mexican new US ambassador, Ronald Johnson, on the presentation of his qualifications at the National Palace.
“We’re going to invite them to come to Mexico on this occasion,” Sinbaum added.
“We’ve focused mainly on Mexico two things… one is trade, not my department… and the other is security cooperation,” Rubio said.
Also, on May 22, the Mexican president announced that Mexican Economic Secretary Marcelo Ebrard would travel to Washington for a meeting as part of negotiations between the two countries.
