Kissimmee, Fla. (WFLA) – Food debate at Kissimmee Checkers restaurant ended with a fatal shooting Wednesday.

NBC affiliate WESH reported that filming took place at a popular fast food restaurant at 5780 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at 10:10pm.

Lawmakers said the shooting occurred between customers identified as Checker employees Elijah Travis McKee, 23, and Wesley Robertson.

Witnesses told deputies that Mackey and his client were caught up in the debate, during which Robertson made a mild comment on Mackey.

Deputies say it was when Mackey reached for his waistband, pulled out a small handgun, and shot Robertson in the chest.

Robertson was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mackey and charged him with first-degree planned murder with a firearm.

He was restrained without being restrained.

As of Friday, the checker has returned to business.
