TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’s office announced Tuesday that Sunshine State had hit new tourism records last year.

In 2024, 143 million visitors visited Florida, up 1.7% on previous records in 2023.

The governor’s office said last year 130.65 million domestic travelers, 8.94 million international visitors and 3.41 million Canadian tourists visited Sunshine Province.

Desantis also announced that Florida welcomed 41.2 million visitors in the first quarter of 2025.

“The Florida tourism industry is leading the country,” DeSantis said. “These results are evidence that our liberty-first policy is working, and Florida remains the perfect place to visit, work and raise families.”

The governor’s office said the state is “even more successful as the most visited destination in the United States.”
