“I hope to check out from this domain someday this summer,” the cartoonist and podcaster said.
Scott Adams, the longtime cartoonist behind the “Dilbert” comic strip, said on May 19 that he had the same type of aggressive prostate cancer as former President Joe Biden and only lived a few months.
“I have the same cancer as Joe Biden, and I also have prostate cancer that has spread to my bones,” said Adams, a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump and a conservative commentator for X.
“My life expectancy is probably this summer. I hope to check out from this domain someday this summer.”
Adams, 67, added that cancer is “already unbearable.”
“I can say there are no good days, so if you think, ‘Hey Scott, are there any good days?’, no. He said.
“I have the ability to stand up for this day, but I feel pain, I always feel pain, and the pain moves around different parts of my body,” he said during the show. “I’ve been walking for months now using my walker.”
Adams said he would not be able to enter into details about the treatment he received. However, he stated that attempting to use drugs such as ivermectin and phenbendazole was ineffective.
Adams had words of support for Biden and his family.
“I want to expand my respect, compassion and sympathy for the former president and his family, as they go through particularly tough times,” he said.
“This represents a more aggressive form of the disease, but cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive. “The president and his family are reviewing treatment options with his doctor.”
In a X post Monday morning, Biden wrote, including photos of himself and his wife, Jill Biden:
Prostate cancer uses what is called a Gleason score to score aggression. The score ranges from 6 to 10, with prostate cancers of 8, 9, and 10 behaving more aggressively. Biden’s office said he scored at 9, suggesting his cancer is the most aggressive.
Many political leaders on both sides of the political aisle sent words of support to Biden after the announcement.
A longtime political opponent, Trump grieved the news on social media, writing, “I wish Joe a quick and successful recovery.”
Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris, said on social media that she keeps him “heart and prayer at this time of year” for her family.
Adams launched Dilbert in 1989. He is known for his satirical office humor. At one point, the comic appeared in thousands of newspapers in multiple languages.
In 2023, the strip was dropped by many publications after Adams made controversial comments about race.
