MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – The Everglades in Florida saw a crocodile eating what is believed to be its offspring on Mother’s Day in “National Geographic Moment.”
A group of people on tour at Shark Valley Everglades National Park on May 11th experienced an adult crocodile munching on a baby crocodile while three other young crocodiles looked up close.
“Well, that’s a shame,” you can hear the tour guide say in the background.
The video footage showed the tiny crocodile munching on the small ones as three other small crocodiles sat in the water in front of them.
“That’s what happens when kids are mischievous and cheating,” the tour guide jokes, calling the scene a “National Geographic moment.”
Christopher Brochu, a professor studying crocodiles, told National Geographic that anigators eat anything that includes other gators.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, adult crocodiles eat coarse fish, snakes, small mammals and birds.
