The gunman, identified as 53-year-old Duane Clayton Day, began filming on a deputy patrol vehicle. Thankfully, authorities remained away from the area while the shot was fired.
The SWAT team, FHP, FWC officers and the US Customs and Border Patrol responded to establish boundaries for the area. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has also launched two helicopters carrying law enforcement snipers in search of a day.
Eventually, the day was found motionlessly on the roof, appearing to have taken his own life. The SWAT team confirmed the day’s death.
