Liberal groups erecting signs in Florida are targeting doge cuts

The Trump White House and the Government Efficiency Agency (DOGE) had proposed cutting back on the National Park Service.

They are considering a reduction in workers due to about $1.2 billion of the $4.8 billion cut and 1,500 jobs nationwide.

A liberal group called the More Perfect Union has set up a sign in Florida to oppose the proposed cuts. One of the signs can be found in Jacksonville.

In the press release, the group said that Elon Musk and the Trump Administration’s Government Efficiency (DOGE) have reduced resources from one of our country’s most precious assets, highlighting the fact that Elon Musk and the Trump Administration’s Government Efficiency (DOGE) have reduced resources from one of our country’s most precious assets.

“National parks are some of our country’s most important resources, but some elected officials and unelected billionaires want to privatize or eliminate our public services. We strongly believe in the need for great parks and outdoor spaces that all Americans can enjoy.”

Shaquille has also served as Senator Bernie Sanders’ Chief Political Advisor and has worked with left-wing groups such as the ACLU, the Center for American Progress and Think Think Progress.

Trump officials are informing them that they prefer to see more local control over the national parks. Doge did not provide details, but claimed it found wasted spending from the Biden administration at several construction sites that could provide better service at the local level.

The White House states that many projects receiving National Recreation and Conservation Grants “have no direct connection to maintaining national parks or public lands, so there is a large backlog of maintenance and is more important to address than community recreation initiatives.”

In 2024, Pew’s study found that 76% of Americans loved national parks and looked at them from a positive perspective.
