Hey Florida. Your government just kneeled directly democracy

When naive do-gooders continue to insist on this insanely nasty document, don’t you just hate it?

Daniel Ruth
Daniel Ruth (Tampa Bay Times)

There’s no good going forward. And would you like to thank the Florida Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis for the wisdom of R-rights? You don’t need the right to release a foul smell! As long as the lights are burning in Tallahassee, good is not allowed.

Now, make sure that the constitutional one includes applause for allowing citizens to “pet the government for relief for their grievances.” Really now.

And even the Florida Constitution has a blather on the rights of “petting for redress of dissatisfaction” after some preliminary pabrams about “all political power is inherent to the people.”

Who dreams of all this creepy? Stop it! Stop it before the politics of the body begins to believe they live in democracy. What a mess. People who claim they have the right to do things.

Where will it end?

If you start to allow people to actually believe that they can be a force for change, well, what happens? Soon, they are defending change.

And if that happens, why would you have to pay to buy and buy for Franky of licking spittitting in the Florida Legislature?

Florida has a long history of citizen petition efforts to add referendums of all kinds to law books. The reason for this is pretty simple.

Over the years, Floridians have easily approved initiatives to raise the minimum wage, legalize medical marijuana, and restore the right to vote for convicted felons.

And these efforts, like any other effort, were because the drones living in Tallahassee were politically brave and too brave to address these issues in the Florida Legislature.

So it was little shocking when Congress made it more difficult to get citizens’ initiatives on the ballot, ashamed of how they were constantly manifesting in helpless facts.

If the candidate received more than 50% of the vote, if they won, we were elected. That cannot be done. Therefore, today, a minimum of 60% approval is required in the polls for the efforts to amend the constitution.

And what happened? In 2024, measures to legalize recreational marijuana received nearly 56% approval, while another proposed amendment won the state’s harsh six-week abortion ban.

pretty good. But it’s not enough.

After abortion/marijuana efforts clearly demonstrated broad bipartisan support, the Florida Legislature had just enough of almost everything about this democratic Balder Dash. What shall we do? Make it even more difficult for petition efforts to succeed.

A few days ago, Governor Desantis of R-Juan Peron-Lite signed a law measure that would effectively make it impossible for future grassroots-initiated referendum petitions to succeed.

Those signing the petition must submit the last four digits of their Florida driver’s license number, voter ID card number, or Social Security number. Residents outside of Florida are prohibited from petitioning for distribution, just like those convicted of a felony that has not restored their right to vote. Petition Cardiovascular needs to be trained. Signed petitions must be submitted to the election supervisor in 10 days, not 30 days. Later submissions will be fined between $50 and $2,500.

There are more, but the results here are more difficult, expensive and troublesome than ever for the average citizen to petition for relief for his frustration (now at all). (UGH) it is more difficult to participate in democracy.

Or think about it like this. Gov. Desantis has created a sleazy slash fund by diverting $10 million from the $67 million excess claim settlement from the state Medicaid vendor to a Chin-two questionable charity set up for First Lady Casey Desantis. The money was then transferred to two nonprofits and used it to defeat the marijuana fix.

DeSantis is packed with illegality. It was certainly evil. But don’t worry, no doubt U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy will begin a fully-pitched investigation to get to the bottom of everything. And yes, it was just a spitting moment. sorry.

The new prevention bill included several boilerplate languages that would prohibit state governments from approving public funds on political advertising.

What do you think is the possibility that it will be enacted?
