Florida gas prices were monitored again last week. The state average has returned from $3.04 per gallon on Monday to $3.18 by Thursday. On Sunday, Florida gas prices fell to $3.10/g.
These price fluctuations have become quite common. Since September 2024, Florida’s average price has bounced between $2.96/g and $3.30/g. The average driver price is $3.11/g.
“Florida gas prices are poised to fall this week,” said Marc Jenkins, a spokesman for AAA, the Automobile Club Group. “Last week, oil prices fell on concern that OPEC and its allies could add more oil to the market, which usually results in lower fuel demand as the global economy fits in a potential slowdown.”
OPEC+ reportedly plans to bring 2.2 million oil barrels per day back to the market by November. The effort is said to be designed to sink oil prices to regain market share, while also punishing Iraq and Kazakhstan for failing to comply with production quotas.
