Each party receives a baseline of $17,500 per month.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) will provide $1 million a month over the next four years, providing national parties with political parties across the country as part of its “organization everywhere” strategy.
“This all means we can compete and win in Virginia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with more investment in staff, better data and technology, and more powerful organizational programs, and we will race across the country in the months and years this year,” the DNC Chair said.
The monthly $1 million will be transferred from DNC to the state under a new State Partnership Program (SPP) agreement.
Each party receives a baseline of $17,500 per month. This shows an increase of $5,000 per month from the last contract in blue and purple conditions.
Martin said the DNC will invest more in the red states. Republican-controlled states receive an additional investment of $5,000 a month through DNC’s Red State Fund, reaching $22,500 a month.
According to former DNC chair Jaime Harrison, the strategy is a “game changer.”
The DNC said it will also invest heavily in technology used by Democrats. He said this includes improving national voting files and providing Parliament with best-in-class tools to leverage the data.
ASDC president Jane Cleeve said the additional funds will build up the party’s infrastructure and increase Democratic candidates of a competitive race.
“National parties are the backbone of the Democratic Party, and through this investment our state parties will receive the support they need to show voters to protect their rights and economic opportunities that there is a strong Democrat in their corner, wherever they live,” Cleeve said in a statement.
DNC’s new contracts include six regional training “bootcamps” for state parties per two-year cycle and hiring more ASDC staff.
Meanwhile, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Wayley said that a big Democrat investment in race doesn’t necessarily lead to winning those contests.
