Roller coasters dominate theme park injury reports

The state report states that the majority of theme park injuries in the first quarter of 2025 were related to big roller coasters, but intense rides and attractions also appeared.

Coasters from Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World and Sea World Orlando were listed six times between January and March by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The state’s major theme parks are self-reports of visitors who have been injured on rides and require at least 24 hours of hospitalization.

Hagrid’s magical creatures have appeared in the latest report three times in Bike Adventures, a coaster set out into the magical world of the Harry Potter area at the Universal Islands adventure theme park. On February 3rd, a 33-year-old man experienced an attack after experiencing charm. On March 8th, as was the case with a 26-year-old man on March 18th, a 53-year-old man felt chest pain after riding Hagrid. The man in the March incident was in an existing condition, the report says.

SeaWorld announces the opening day of the Expedition Odyssey Ride

On March 28, a 49-year-old woman passed away after riding a manta coaster at Sea World Orlando.

At Walt Disney World, a 73-year-old woman felt nauseous after leaving Guardians of the Galaxy. The 14-year-old woman from Cosmic Rebind, an Epcot spinning indoor coaster on January 21, suffered from stomach pain after a rock and roller coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 24.

The 78-year-old woman felt faint after being a star tour at Hollywood Studios on January 29th, a simulator attraction. The 25-year-old had “seizure-like symptoms” after involving an alien swirl source at Toy Story Land in the park on March 27th.

The report also featured a very low-cost attraction. On January 17th, an 82-year-old woman collapsed and injured her ankle. At Magic Kingdom, a 51-year-old man felt short of breath after Peter Pan flew at Magic Kingdom on January 24th, and a 68-year-old woman was injured by falling a leg after leaving the Mud Tea Party (aka The Teacups) in the same park on March 31st.

No injuries have been reported at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, Legoland Florida, or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme parks.

The state will not receive health renewal after the initial assessment.
