Surfside, Fla. (WFLA) – A man’s almost humiliating experience landed him in the hospital and fought for his life in the rough flows of South Florida over the weekend.

NBC affiliate WTVJ said the man who only identified the men who were believed to be young was pulled out of surfside waters Sunday evening after LifeGuards near the intersection of 90th Avenue and Collins Avenue responded to the missing swimmer.

A video shot by beach fans shows the first responder on the coast of a personal jet ski rush, with an unconscious man lying on his back in a rescue sleigh. Once they reached the coastline, the Medic quickly managed the CPR.

“He wasn’t responding,” an eyewitness told WTVJ. “At this point, he was with some friends and witnessed what was going on, which was very sad.

Miami’s National Weather Service shared a post from X, previously known as Twitter, urging swimmers to take extra precautions at sea.

“In the past few days, there have been some rescues on beaches in our East Coast region. The high risk of RIP currents remains with us today, as high risk of RIP currents continues due to strong onshore winds,” NWS Miami wrote on Sunday.

According to WTVJ, Miami Beach Ocean Rescue was in two lown adoration on Sunday near 16th Avenue and Ocean Drive. The body of a teenager was found Friday in Fort Lauderdale Beach after he went missing while swimming. The diver decides his death was a random drowsing.

If the swimmer gets caught up in RIP current, Florida Fish and Wildlife says it’s calm. They escape from the current and, if they can’t escape, they put the water down to the shore, float, step in, seek assistance, or scream.
