TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – President Donald Trump made a comment Thursday about the shooting at Florida State University.

At least six were reported after active shooters were reported on campus. The suspect is in custody, according to the Associated Press.

Videos posted on social media showed multiple obvious victims being treated at the scene.

During the press conference, Trump said he was briefed on the situation.

“That’s a shame,” the president said. “It’s scary and it’s scary when something like this happens.”

He later said he should say more about violence.

Other government officials have also expressed support for the victims as law enforcement is investigating the issue.

“My office is already in touch with school leaders about tragic reports on FSU’s campus,” Sen. Ashley Moody said. “I pray for the safety of our students, faculty and all first responders involved.”

“Our prayers are our FSU family and state law enforcement is actively responding,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
