Following years of pushback, a gorgeous apartment breaks the ground

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (WFLA) – After years of delays and pushbacks from the community, a luxurious Tarpon Springs apartment breaks into the door Wednesday morning.

Caroline’s anclote Caroline Harbor, formerly an Ancolote Harbor apartment, was approved in 2021 but suspended in 2022.

The project has been a source of tensions in Tarpon Springs for years, but now, despite objections from neighbors, construction of more than 400 gorgeous riverside units along the Anclote River is underway.

“I think it will be an effort for you to preserve that property in its natural state as it is now,” said the resident who spoke at the meeting.

The luxurious apartment complex breaks the ground, receives 77 veterans over the years, and receives a patriotic welcome home after the honorable Flight 1.

In the long-standing battle, complicated and complicated opponents were concerned about additional traffic along US-19, along with the preservation of the wetlands and two bird nesting sites.

The commissioner voted to suspend the project until the lawsuit over the issue was resolved, but several judges voted in favor of the project’s developer, Morgan Group.

“If the claim is inappropriately recognized, my client is not damaged, and I don’t want to engage in a lawsuit that has not filed a lawsuit,” said Scott McLaren, a lawyer with Morgan Group.

The Morgan Group has repeatedly said it is addressing all the concerns raised about the development.

The neighbors who keep the fight up are the place, not the project itself.

“We’re trying to tell the Morgan Group that we don’t care about coming to Tarpon and building an apartment,” Peter Darakos said.

The developer said the groundbreaking thing is a major milestone for the community and its construction is expected to progress soon.
