Previous Report: Miami Gardens police say two passengers on the bus were shot dead on March 30 by a driver.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WFLA) — The bus driver resigned last week, accused of fatally shooting two passengers on a Miami-Dade Transit bus, according to a report from NBC affiliate WTVJ.

Following the March 30 incident, county officials are said to have begun a termination process for drivers that have not yet been publicly identified.

Last Monday, authorities announced the identity of the victim. Ronnie Stephen Wade Hurley, 44, and Ejash Bale Carter, 46, died following a verbal argument.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital, and both died of injuries.

“At this is a sensitive case that needs to be carefully considered. We are working closely with SAO and will provide updates when it becomes available,” police said on April 2.

WTVJ reported that the case remains under investigation by Miami Gardens Police and the State Attorney’s Office. It is unclear whether the driver may face or what will be charged.
